If you enjoy local craft beers and exploring new neighbourhoods, look no further than Westboro/Hintonburg for this Ottawa bar crawl. Westboro is the area between Island Park Drive/Highway 417/Churchill Avenue and the Ottawa River. Hintonburg is the area to the east, bounded by the transitway, Scott Street, Queensway and Holland Drive. The two neighbourhoods are almost adjacent to each other. They are both known for being hip, boujee and an upscale vibe with local shops and restaurants.
This bar crawl is about 45 minutes of walking from one end to the other. Both Westboro and Hintonburg are accessible by car, bus and bike. If you drive, you can park directly on Wellington Street or any side street and leave your car overnight if you don’t have a designated driver.
If you’re more interested in cocktails, check out this Cocktail Crawl in Little Italy!
The first stop on this Ottawa bar crawl is Ottawa’s original craft beer pub. The Clocktower Brew Pub is in Westboro. Try one of their very own craft beers and sit on their outdoor patio!
Head down Richmond Road for a snack on the way to your next pub. Maverick’s is a local Ottawa bakery that makes fresh donuts daily and the most amazing gourmet flavours.
If donuts aren’t your thing, or if you want another snack on your way, stop at Stella Luna Gelato before heading to the next brewery. Stella Luna makes internationally award-winning gelato and even their small size is huge!
The final brewery stop is the Hintonburg Public House, with a covered patio. They have Summer’s Antiques & Gifts Shop, where all the quirky finds that are used to decorate the space are for sale!
Tennessy Willems is a word fired pizza restaurant using local farmers and fresh natural ingredients. Elmdale Tavern is part of the Whalesbone group in Ottawa. It specializes in oysters and turns in to a dance venue Saturday evenings with the best throwback music.
