A perfect day trip from Ottawa takes you to Wakefield, Quebec. Only about a 30 minute drive from downtown Ottawa is this charming and quaint village. Historically, a steam train ran from Gatineau to Wakefield in the summer months along the Ottawa River. (The last trip was in 2011). The village relies on tourism and there’s a lot to pack into one day. With this Wakefield Day Trip, stop at a covered bridge, kayak on white water rapids, canoe through an outdoor maze, enjoy delicious food at local restaurants, relax at the spa, walk along the River Walk Pathway and more. Check out a few bonus stops on your drive there!
